New article published: Does politics matter? An investigation of political-institutional factors influencing land consumption

Summary

Numerous studies have used demographic factors or, more generally, the economic development of a community as explanations for growing or declining land use. Political and institutional factors have not been considered so far, especially in Germany. However, party political preferences are likely to make a difference. This article explores this question using the example of municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
